BEST TRENDS FROM SPRING 16 NYFW TO WEAR NOW

New York fashion week has come and gone, and if I were to sum up what we've seen on the runways, the word exciting is one of the first ones that comes to mind. Though Spring 2016 runways offered a variety of trends and ideas, what struck a particular cord with me were the continues references to my beloved 70s. And so, I would like to take this opportunity to talk a little bit about a few of my favorite trends and how you can incorporate them in your wardrobe right now.

Crochet! Sure, crochet may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think about your fall wardrobe. And yet given that 70s continue to rule the runways, crochet definitely feels right paired with flared jeans, a-line skirts and suede. One of the ways you can introduce this trend into your fall wardrobe is by pairing a crochet detailed blouse with a 70s inspired bottom, such as wide-legged pant or a button-front skirt for example.

Wide leg! Universally flattering, easy to wear and just plain cool looking, wide-legged pants and jeans are definitely my favorite silhouette right now! Making an appearance on every runway, ranging from tailored flares to boxier looking uber wide-legged pants, there is definitely a pair out there for everyone. Personally, I am more than a little obsessed with the high-waisted flared denim versions. For today's look, I paired my flared jeans with a tie-neck blouse and a fringed bag but of course when it comes to flare jeans the possibilities are endless. As we move in to fall, they pair wonderfully with trench coats and leather jackets or tweed blazers and smart pullovers layered over collared shirts!

Fringe! One word, OBSESSED! I love fringe because it adds such a great texture to a look! Though there are certainly many ways you can incorporate this trend into your wardrobe, I am a bit partial to fringed accessories! A nice fringed shoe or bag gives a cool-boho vibe to anything you wear this fall and adds a touch of drama to a simplest of looks! And of course you know how much I love that!

Maxi dresses! Though typically I reserve the great lengths for night, this season I am definitely loving the idea of wearing maxi dresses for day. There is a certain relaxed, easy-going boho vide about them, yet somehow when you wear one, you still manage to like quite pulled together. As we progress into fall they look especially relevant paired with leather or denim jackets, of course if you're feeling particularly adventurous, try pairing one with a belted trench coat for that oh-so-fashion-forward tiered look.
