i've been studying the work of la decorator schuyler samperton a lot recently. it's that spot-on mix of the west coast anything-goes laid-back vibe paired with traditional sensibilities of scale, chintz fabrics and pieces with provenance. the colors are jolting in an exciting way, yet the rooms look entirely livable. her designs are layered and authentic, without appearing as if anyone had to try terribly hard to create the comfortable space.

truly a master of the mix, samperton inspires me to hone my craft of creating unique environments with things i love.
