fall, especially in the south, is a great time to sport a sleeveless jacket. just warm enough to bundle up in on the way home when it's chilly, but cool enough to start the night out hot. i packed my isabel marant jacket for a trip to charleston last weekend, and it was the just the right choice for the breezy mornings and the late-night walk home. i picked mine up at vermillion, here in raleigh, earlier in the season, but there are a few left online at barney's. you can also get the look for less with this similar option from club monaco.
white can be done after memorial day - hey, when did i ever pay attention to rules? current and elliot's coated white jeans read winter white, and my anthro sweatshirt has proven to be a closet staple. i picked up the sunglasses from my favorite charleston boutique, hampden clothing - they're the 'new york' style, and i like them because the lenses are a bit more gray than opaque black.
black leather slip-ons are having a moment - i like that ash's version has a platform. i'm so used to boots that being flat feels funny, so at least i get an inch or two with these. i have the python version, but there are lots of options out there.
