                                                                                                 ph. me

My third stop in Vienna was at the Hotel Topazz where I spent a few wonderful days. From the minute I saw the building on the internet I knew that this will by the ending station for my trip. Located in the 1st district of Vienna, Hotel Topazz is surrounded by more than sixty museums, cathedrals, churches, luxury shopping, dining and famous coffeehouses. Brown mosaic facade, which absorbs and reflects the natural light, ensures that this building is a real eye-catcher, so I needed to check it!

Highlights
- ideal city center location, just a few steps from St. Stephen's Cathedral
- Vienna’s first green upscale hotel (low-energy usage, locally sourced food and the use of green building materials )
-  the hotel’s dark façade is dotted with large oval windows (designed by award-winning Viennese architects BWM Architekten &Partner and Architekt DI Michael Manzenreiter)
- each of the oval windows has a divan bed integrated into the windowsill where you can relax
- guestrooms feature soft furnishings in earthy shades, wooden paneling and lush curtains (one-of-a-kind lighting fixtures, fauteuils and fabrics are inspired by early 20th century Viennese architects, artists and designers
- super comfy bed with premium bedding
- padded doors for absolute discretion ;)
- the spacious bathrooms are inspired by luxurious 1930s style and are made of chrome, nickel, marble and fine china (you have inner city view while you having a shower, so coool)
- great cosmetic products ( forgot the name but I will update it soon as I remember)
- every guest is a VIP in the Privileged Club ( which means: free minibar, free high speed WiFi, iPad and Nespresso machine on request, selection of hot and cold beverages at Salon from 16 to 17:30h etc)
- the hotel's cozy and inspiring Salon re-creates the easy-going yet luxurious vibe of a private turn-of-the-century Viennese house
- very silent hotel, perfect for relaxation
- across the street, at sister property Hotel Lamée, guests have access to Bloom – the hotel's café, bar (place to be), and bistro.

Food and drinks
- simple breakfast concept with cold Buffett and cooked meals
- seasonal, regional and home made products (try croissant with raspberry jam)
- Salon is at -1 floor so you can enjoy the high ceiling view
- unlimited glass of wine ;)

People
- instead of a reception in its classic way the hotel provides kind of a butler service. You will have a warm welcome and the staff will make your stay even more enjoyable
- as I already mentioned it above, the hotel is very silent and calm and if you are not in the mood to chat or hang out you will not see even one person, and yes believe me, it's possible to experience even that despite the fact that you are at the hotel full of people. Or I was getting up too early. ;)
- anyway, the staff will fulfill all your requests but they will not bother you with tons of information or too much of kindness which can become fake at some point.

Price
You can check the rates directly on the Hotel Topazz website or at Designhotels.com cause they are member of it.

Experience
The architectural concept of the first LENIKUS Designhotel stands for Vienna as an open-minded metropolis. The architecture of the hotel includes the past, present and future of European art and culture and reflects it.
The Topazz is a place for those who wants to relax, who likes simplicity and glamour, but it's also a great place for business travelers. Guests, who are seeking the comfort of a 4+star hotel and at the same time enjoying the intimacy of a small house, will feel comfortable here and that's what I really liked about this hotel.
Intimacy.

p.s. thank you Bettina for everything!
